Almost everyone who buys fruit weekly runs out midweek. The gap between running out and restocking is where the habit quietly dies.
We asked around a hundred people in Raipur how often they buy fruit. The most common answer was once a week, on a Sunday. The second question was more revealing: when do you run out? Almost everyone said Tuesday or Wednesday.
That leaves four or five days a week with no fruit in the house. Not because anyone decided to stop eating it, but because restocking mid-week means another trip nobody has time for.
A habit that works four days out of seven is not really a habit. It is an intention with gaps in it. Daily delivery is not a luxury so much as a way of closing the gap — the fruit is simply there on Thursday, the same as it was on Monday.
